Mrs. Violet Barker

Violet Barker of Birch Run MI passed away suddenly Tuesday evening at St. Mary's of Michigan in Saginaw MI Violet was 84.

Born on September 19, 1929 in Lee County Kentucky, Violet was the daughter of the late Luther and Nanny (Judd) Deaton. For many years Violet reupholstered furniture. Violet was also a long time member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Pontiac MI.

Violet leaves her four children, son Robert & wife Sandra Barker, daughter Joan & husband Troy Scott, daughter Erma & husband Gary Alston, and son Mark Barker, 11-grandchildren, 25-great grandchildren, and 5-great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents Violet is also preceded in death by 3-sisters and 4-brothers.

Funeral services were Saturday March 8, 2014 at the Hanlin Funeral Home, a private burial followed at the Gunnell Cemetery in Arbela Twp. in Millington.
