Mr. Wallace Petzold

November 25, 1929 — October 17, 2012

Mr. Wallace A. Petzold lifelong resident of Millington passed from our world into God's Kingdom early Wednesday morning October 17, 2012 while at the Tendercare Nursing Home in Frankenmuth, Wallace was 82.

Wallace was the son of the late Oscar & Alma (Bauer) Petzold, and was born in Millington Michigan on November 25, 1929. Wallace was also a life time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington, where he was Baptized on December 8th, 1929 and confirmed on April 2, 1944 . On May 17 of 1952 Wallace married his wife of 60 years Shirley Bremer. He retired in 1994 from the AC/Spark Plug Division of General Motors. Wallace also served his country State side in the US Marines during the Korean War. He was a long time member of the Conrad-Wager & Keene American Legion Post. Wallace always participated with Honor Guard detail for the post for many Military funerals. He was also a part of the Color Guard Team which he participated with the team in six state competitions, taking 1st place all six times they competed.

Wallace leaves his family, wife Shirley, children, Suzanne & husband Jim Higgs, Donna Ray & husband Kevin Torrey, Joel & wife Vicky Petzold, Page & husband Marty Kidd, Sonja & husband David Russell, Jason & wife Linda Petzold, Julian & wife Jennifer Petzold, and Erica & husband Kalieh Vann, twenty grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. Wallace also leaves his sister Irene Smith, two brothers & sisters in-law Willard & Carolyn Petzold, and Roy & Shirley Petzold, sister and brother in-law Elaine & Jim Bickel, as well as many nieces, nephews extended family and friends. Besides his parents Wallace is preceded in death by; two brothers Alton & Rolland Petzold, and an infant sister.

Service Information

Funeral services for Wallace were held Saturday October 20, 2012 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington. The burial followed at the Millington Twp. Cemetery in Millington. Pastor James Bruner delivered the funeral message and the closing prayers at the cemetery. Military Honors were conducted by the Conrad-Wager & Keene American Legion Post 164.
