Nancy Rae Palmreuter, beloved wife, Mother, and Grandma, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on September 26, 2024, at the age of 80.

Nancy was born on January 3, 1944, at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw, MI. She was the daughter of Ward & Theyo (Rosencrants) Frost. She graduated from Vassar High School and was united in marriage to Eugene Palmreuter on November 24, 1962; he survives her.

Nancy had a strong faith in Jesus and knew him as her Savior. She shared her faith often with her family. She was a longtime member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Richville, and was active in many organizations there. She was a charter member of Mary Martha and helped organize funeral meals. She was one of the Sunday School teachers when St. Michael's first started the Sunday School program. She was active at the school to help while her kids attended St. Michael's Lutheran School and then became a teacher's aide for 10 years. She and Eugene found the importance of a Christian education by sending their children to St. Michael's and then to Valley Lutheran High School in Saginaw. She loved to volunteer at Valley while her children attended there.

Nancy had a servant's heart. She loved talking to people and was able to make each person she spoke to feel special. She volunteered at the Bethesda Thrift Shop. She was a 4-H leader and softball coach. She was on the Michigan Pork Producers Board and was even president of the Pork Partners.

Over the years Nancy had many hobbies. She loved to travel and was able to visit most of our Nation's fifty states. She enjoyed going to auctions to look for antiques or a unique pig to add to her pig collection. She was a hunter and loved 'blasting' deer; one year she even traveled to Montana to hunt. She loved cooking and baking and was known to be an excellent cook and baker by her family and friends. She enjoyed painting ceramics and bowling. She also enjoyed socializing, walking, and visiting with family and good friends.

For the past 10 years of her life, Nancy courageously fought the complications associated with Parkinson's Disease. Nancy joined Rock Steady of Midland and then Rock Steady at Diversified in Frankenmuth, where she was known as 'Killer'. At Rock Steady, Nancy made special friends and enjoyed going to workouts several times each week. She found great encouragement from her fellow boxers and their fearless leaders.

Nancy not only raised 6 children, but she helped run her family's farm. From keeping the books, taking animals to market, and preparing food for farm workers, she did it all and gave 100% of her heart. She truly was the heart of her home and family. When the farm focused on pigs, she would haul five loads of pigs a month. She also hauled 160 dairy cows in six weeks when they got rid of their dairy cows. She would take the kids and "show pigs" to shows in Michigan and to shows out of state. She would use her culinary skills to create fabulous warm meals for all the guys helping with the sugar beet harvest.

She made cross country travels to pick up livestock trailers. On one trip she took five of her children when they were young to Nebraska in a '76 Suburban. Then she turned around and traveled through Chicago with a trailer. Another time that she had to pick up a trailer, she then picked up her three kids from college in Chicago to load up all their stuff and come home in the new livestock trailer. Boy, did heads turn when all their belongings were put in brand-new livestock trailer.

One of Nancy's greatest joys was her family. She loved spending time with them. When her children were at home, she spent many hours watching their sporting events, school activities, and livestock events. When she was blessed with Grandchildren, she was always in the stands cheering them on during sporting events, school activities, and as they showed animals in 4-H.

Those mourning the loss of Nancy include, Eugene, her husband of 61 years. A tribute to a loving Wife, Mother, and Grandma

Nancy,

You stated that you were "just a housewife". I saw you as the heart in my life, family, and farm. So, I wanted all this included as a tribute to you for all that you did and all the lives you touched.

Love always, Eugene
