VASSAR - Mrs. Pauline Elma Stange, aged 93, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 16, 2026, at Vassar Comfort Care.

She was born December 25, 1932, in Flint, Michigan, daughter of the late Paul and Louetta (Horne) Bishop. She loved attending church, tending to her garden, playing games, baking, and car trips. On September 1, 1951, she wed the love of her life, James Stange. Together they shared countless memories, raised their children, and celebrated over 67 years of marriage before his passing on October 16, 2018. She especially enjoyed visits and time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her two children: Paula (Tom) Cavanaugh, and Jim Stange; four cherished grandchildren: Joshua (Andrea) Gates, Brittnee Eubanks, Caitlyn (Jacob) Sherman, and Luke Cavanaugh; dearly loved great-grandchildren: Thomas, Waylon, Brylee, Evelyn, Maverick, Charlton, Henlee, and Walker; sister, Patricia Thayer, and many nieces and nephews.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. James Stange; siblings and in-laws: Alversa (Stan) Hale, Duane (Margaret) Bishop, Harold (Lorraine) Bishop, Robert Thayer, Louis (Lois) Stange, Charles (Geri) Stange, Louise (Orville) Martin, Pauline Atwood and Irene Edzik

Visitation will be at Hanlin Funeral Home in Vassar from 3 – 7 PM on Sunday, October 18, 2026. Funeral services will be held at Juniata Baptist Church at 11 AM on Monday, October 19, 2026; visiting at church will begin at 10 AM and last until the time of service. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Vassar, Michigan.
