Phyllis J. Moore

Phyllis J. Moore, age 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 16^th, 2023, with her loving family by her side.

Funeral services for Phyllis will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 20^th, 2023, at Hanlin Funeral Home – Millington; visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and last until the time of service. Immediately following, Phyllis will be laid to rest in Millington Twp. Cemetery next to her husband, Bill.

Phyllis was born on September 14^th, 1934, the first child born to parents Otto & Jeannette (Thayer) Opperman and grew up alongside her brothers, Jim and Bob. On August 22^nd, 1951, she married William “Bill” Moore. Together they celebrated 52 years of marriage before his passing in 2003. For many years, Phyllis worked at the Frankenmuth Gallery and with the Millington Public Schools. She enjoyed spending time with friends and activities such as softball, bowling, and travelling. Above all, family was most important to Phyllis, and she loved them deeply.

Phyllis is survived by daughter, Linda (Dean) Sharrer; son-in-law, Greg Meinecke; grandson, Alan Meinecke; brothers, Jim Opperman, and Bob Opperman; many extended family; and best friend, Darlene.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; daughter, Terrie Meinecke (d. Nov. 2022); and her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Millington Baptist Church or a charity of one’s choice.
