Robert (Bob) O'Dell

Robert Terry O’Dell, 66. our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away of advanced cancer, at his home in Davison, on Friday, May 14, 2021.  Bob was born in Flint on May 22, 1954. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia Pickelman O'Dell, their daughters Melissa and husband Jamie Puzjak, Ashley, and fiancé Mike Freeman, five grandchildren Selena, Isla, Kelsa, Alia and Sayer Puzjak. The family is grateful for the extended family and friends that shared in the memories creating his life.

He lived and worked his lifetime on the farm and homestead of his childhood. He loved raising cattle and bailing hay. He owned and operated Bob's Carpet Shop retiring after 44 years, being known as a very meticulous flooring installer. Bob was a skilled licensed carpenter doing building and remodeling. He was also the sexton of Flint River Dodge Cemetery for 35 years.

He loved to scout and hunt deer and turkey. He was a great mentor sharing his well-thought knowledge on many topics to friends who crossed his path. He was always there to lend a hand to help someone. He loved his grandchildren and encouraged their every endeavor. He thoughtfully enjoyed many phone conversations with our dear cousin, Opal Harrison, and sister Dawn Perry.

He is also blessed with the endearing love of nephews, nieces, true bonds of friendships, as well as countless friends. He is survived by his son Shane, grandson Dillon and their families, and his siblings. He was preceded in death by his father Robert F O'Dell and brother Gerald Glen O'Dell. He will be forever greatly missed.

A graveside service will be at Flint River Dodge Cemetery on Tuesday, May 18th at 3:00 pm located on Henderson Road in Richfield Township. Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington has been assisting the O’Dell family. In lieu of flowers donations can be to Flint Institute of Music for the Seeing Stars Children’s Tuition Assistance Fund.
