Ronald J. (Ron) Kirkpatrick a lifelong Vassar resident, passed away late Friday evening at his residence, Ron was 72.

The son of the late James & Elsa (Webb) Kirkpatrick Ron was born in Vassar MI on June 23, 1940. Ron served our country during the Vietnam War in US Marines. On February 14, 1974 Ron married his wife of 39 years Cecelia Kreiner. Ron retired in 1998 as a press operator from Grand Blanc Cadillac Plant of General Motors. He was a member of the Conrad-Wager and Keene American Legion Post 164, Ron was also a member and proud supporter of the Marine Corp Heritage Foundation of Washing DC.

Ron leaves his wife Cecelia, son Aaron Kirkpatrick, daughter and son in-law Sharon & Gayland Simmons, a sister Jane Huizar, a sister in-law Janice Kirkpatrick, as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family. Besides his parents Ron is also preceded in death by a brother Robert Kirkpatrick, and a brother in-law Edward Huizar.

Service Information

The family will receive friends at a memorial dinner on Monday July 1, 2013 at 12:00 pm at the St. Francis Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Vassar. The family has honored Ron's wish and cremation has taken place. At a later date Ron's ashes will be taken to the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly Michigan and scattered in one of the cemetery's scattering gardens.
