Mrs. Ruth E. Schiefer, aged 84, was called home to her Lord & Savior on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Covenant Glen in Frankenmuth.
Ruth was born on April 21, 1942, in Bay City, Michigan, to Otto & Elizabeth Bublitz née Burger. She was baptized on May 24, 1942, and confirmed on May 29, 1955. On August 13, 1960, she married the love of her life, Myron Schiefer, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Munger, Michigan. Together they shared countless memories, raised their children, and celebrated over 63 years of marriage before his passing in 2024. Ruth farmed alongside Myron, proudly took care of the home and brought up their four children. Her kitchen was filled with the aroma of her wonderful dinners and baked goods; no one left the Schiefer farm hungry. Ruth enjoyed dancing and listening to polka music. She and Myron enjoyed wintering in Florida for many years. Above all, Ruth’s greatest joy was time spent with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Ruth is survived by her children: Ronald Schiefer, Leon (Stacy) Schiefer, Terry (Deb) Schiefer, and Donna Janson; ten beloved grandchildren: Jamie (Mason) Gorleski, Jeremy (Hilary) Schiefer, Jennifer Estrada, Aaron Schiefer, T.J. (Amy) Schiefer, Ashley (Bryan) Janick, Allison (Justin) Muntz, Kaitlyn (Jason) Enser, Sarah (Nick) Szczepanski, and Emily (Denver) Bonkowski; 18 precious great-grandchildren, with two on the way; as well as other family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron Schiefer; daughter-in-law, Sherri Schiefer; and son-in-law, Jim Janson.
Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church; visitation at church will begin at 9 AM. Following, Ruth will be laid to rest in St. Lorenz Lutheran Cemetery next to her husband, Myron.
Those desiring, may direct memorial gifts to St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, Frankenmuth.
The family extends their thanks and appreciation to the staff at Covenant Glen and Covenant Hospice for their compassionate care of Ruth.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.
He leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
