Sandra (Eremia) Shamel

Mrs. Sandra (Eremia) Shamel of Vassar, Michigan formerly of Millington, and Sebewaing, Michigan passed from our world into God’s Kingdom Thursday July 7, 2022, at the age of 79.

Sandra was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Martens) Eremia and was born in Sebewaing, Michigan on December 19, 1942.  On April 8, 1972, Sandra married Royce Shamel and together they celebrated 46, years of marriage before Royce passed away in January of 2019. Sandra and Royce were very active members of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington, Michigan.  She especially enjoyed making Christmas cookies and candies, packaging them, and distributing them to friends and family.  She had fun teaching her nieces the art of making her famous peanut butter balls, Grandma Eremias noodles and coffee cake.

Sandra leaves to cherish her memory special nephew; Greg & Joanne Eremia, and special niece; Linda Osterman. Sandra also leaves her siblings; Bettyann Steadman, Jacqui & Mike Mandich, Bill & Lynette Eremia, Mike & Mary Eremia, Mary Ralston, sister’s in-law Phyllis Shamel, & Janet Eremia, Special friends Shirley, and Karen, and many other nieces, nephews extended family and friends. Besides her husband, and parents, Sandra is also preceded in death by; two brothers, Robert & Bruce Eremia, and a brother in-law Earl Steadman.

In keeping with Sandra’s request cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of Sandra’s life on Tuesday July 12,2022 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church [4935 W. Center St] in Millington, MI. beginning at 11:30 AM. The Shamel family will receive friends at the church for a time of visitation on Tuesday morning beginning at 10:30 am. Memorial Gifts of Remembrance can be directed to the family, or to St. Paul Lutheran Church. St. Paul Lutheran Church will be live streaming the services for Sandra.
