Shawn Robert West passed away on December 30, 2025. He was 57.

Shawn was born on August 23, 1968, to Wayne and Shirley West. Shawn grew up in Lapeer, MI. Before meeting his wife, Kathleen, and starting a family in Millington. He loved archery, scouting for deer, all things nature, sports racing derby cars, and watching his boy’s race, as well as watching his son play football. Playing with his beloved dogs Layla and Bear and watching his chickens. But above all he loved spending time surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

Shawn’s memory will be forever cherished by wife; Kathleen, Children: Robert Freeland, Natasha Schmidt (West), Mark Snyder, Melissa Steepe, Jessica Williams, Loraine Kreger, Brothers: Dennis West, and David West, and 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.

Shawn is preceded in death by his parents Shirley and Wayne West and brothers Michael and Jeff.

The West family is in the Care of Hanlin Funeral Home, Millington, MI
