VASSAR – Mr. Skip Coggins, aged 85, our caring, hard-working, and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and cousin passed away on May 19, 2026, in Saginaw, Michigan.

Skip was born on February 13, 1941, in Fowlerville, Michigan, to Bernard & Eleanor (Hatt) Coggins. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy and aboard the USS Searcher. While out with friends one night, he met the former, Shirley Reavley. The two dated, fell in love, and were wed on November 13, 1965, in Fowlerville. Together they have shared countless memories, raised their three children, and celebrated over 60 years of marriage. Before retirement, Skip led a career as a truck driver. His travels took him all over the United States and meeting many people. Skip also enjoyed riding motorcycles and the freedom of the open road. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a passionate hunter and fisherman. Above all, family was most important to Skip, and he was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. The time that he spent with his grandchildren brought him his happiest moments. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Shirley Coggins; sons, Larry (Marilyn) Coggins, and Skipper (Maritess) Coggins; grandchildren: Eli Saldana, Jennifer Lemus, Amanda Coggins, Christian Dimalanta, Riley Coggins, and Justin Coggins; great-grandchildren: Jacob Saldana, Johan Lemus, Gabriella Lemus, and Esmeralda Dimalanta; sister, Nancy Arnold; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Skip is reunited with his daughter, Carmen Coggins; parents, Bernard & Eleanor Coggins; and sisters, Judy, and Shyann.

Those desiring may direct memorial gifts to the American Heart Association or to the wishes of the family.
