Tama Bailey

June 6, 1953 — July 13, 2016

Tama Lee Bailey of Millington, MI, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday July 13, 2016 at the age of 63.

Tama was born in Tazewell, Virginia on June 6, 1953 to the late Charles and Marjorie (Cline) Asbury. She graduated from Carmen-Ainsworth High School in 1971. She married Dennis Bailey on September 14, 1974 and they enjoyed 41 years of life together. Dennis will cherish many fond memories of her, as will others left behind, including her daughter and son-in-law Chelsey and Trevor Schlicht, and her brother and sister-in-law Bennett and Kathy Asbury. She worked as a dental assistant after graduating, until she gave birth to her daughter in 1984, after which she spent her time at home as a loving mother. In later years she enjoyed spending her extra time working with friends at the Frankenmuth Kaffee Haus where her outgoing personality brought joy to many patrons.

Her passion for life was evidenced in the many things she took pleasure in. She enjoyed traveling to exotic places, spending time with family and friends, cooking and entertaining, and was always up for an adventure. Throughout her life she had the opportunity to scuba dive, own and ride horses, take motorcycle trips, be the copilot in her husband's airplane, and much more. In more recent years her happiest moments were found spending time at her cottage on the bay, near Elk Rapids, where she loved relaxing and spending time on the boat. Another big part of her life was her involvement as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She enjoyed many happy years volunteering her time in the congregation to help others learn more about the Bible. She enjoyed a very full and vibrant life, and many will be heartbroken by her passing.

A memorial service will be held to commemorate her life on Saturday July 23, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 10074 Lake Rd, Otisville, MI 48463. A reception of light snacks and beverages will be held immediately following at the same location.
