Tracy Jane Congdon

April 24, 1977 — June 3, 2022

MILLINGTON - Tracy Jane Congdon, 45, our outgoing, courageous, faithful, and caring mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend peacefully passed away on Friday, June 3rd, 2022, at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City after a 14-year battle with Huntington’s Disease. She is a true HD Warrior and fought her battle with grace and dignity to the very end.

Tracy Jane Hopkins was born on April 24th, 1977, in Flint to parents Ross and Chrystal (Martin) Hopkins. After graduating from Millington High School Class of ‘95, she attended Mott Community College. Tracy was a spirited, fun-loving child who grew to become a kind-hearted yet determined woman and mother. Gifted with an eye for design, Tracy enjoyed decorating, fashion, and shopping with her friends. She was a member of Richfield Church of the Nazarene and active with the ladies' bible study group. Tracy was a dedicated mother taking her young children on camping adventures, summer festivals, and a host of other fun adventures. Tracy’s daughters and her two granddaughters were the true joy of her life. In her final days she was steadfast in her desire to make sure her caregivers and family knew her gratitude: saying, "Thank you" over and over. This is because she was a woman of character and filled with the Holy Spirit. Tracy will always be remembered for her fighting spirit and faith in the Lord.

Tracy is forever loved by her daughters: Ashlynn (Remi West) Parson, Madelynn Congdon, and Brooklynn Congdon; two granddaughters, Alannah West, and Alayjah West; mother, Chrystal (Jim) Work; sister, Lisa (Ben) Ewald; stepbrother, Bill LaBelle; stepsisters, Laura, Della, and Valerie; stepmothers, Margaret and Sharon; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her dad, Ross Hopkins; brother, Jeremy Hopkins; stepbrother, Shaun LaBelle; nephew, Jacob Hopkins; grandparents, Ted & Betty Hopkins, and Dick & Eleanore Martin; uncle, Mark Martin, uncle, Tim Hopkins; and aunt, Jill Hopkins.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the Niche Aging Center for their tender care of Tracy and friendship over the years.
