Violet Anna “Annie” Trickey March 29, 1937 – May 8, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Violet Anna Trickey, known to her loved ones as Annie, on May 8, 2025, at the age of 88. Born in Flint, Michigan, on March 29, 1937, Annie was a lifelong resident of Millington, Michigan, where she built a legacy of love, devotion, and kindness.
On May 12, 1956, she married the love of her life, Richard John Trickey. Together they started their family and were blessed with 11 children. As a loving housewife, Annie devoted her life to her family, always ensuring her children and grandchildren felt loved and cared for. She had a passion for sewing and spent many hours creating beautiful pieces for her loved ones, especially quilts and baby blankets for the new members of the family. Annie was also known for her love of bingo, and she found joy in spending time at the casino with friends and family, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Annie’s family will remember her for her kind heart, unwavering support, and boundless love. She was a cornerstone of her family, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Annie’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Annie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard John Trickey; their son, Mark Trickey; her daughter-in-law Amber Trickey; her brothers Dale and Leon; and her sisters-in-law Mary Gunn and Donna Gunn.
She leaves behind a large and loving family, including her children Darla Trickey (wife of Mark Trickey), Robert (aka Mike) Trickey, Steve Trickey, David Trickey, Mary (Spike) Johnson, Anne (Barb) Trickey, Kristi Trickey, Stacy (Bob) Kukla, Corey (Jen) Trickey, Danielle (Chuck) Wenn, and Brad Trickey; many grand children and great grandchildren; brothers Don Gunn and Jerry (Sally) Gunn; sisters Denise (Pete) Smith and Anita Gunn.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, Michigan. A praying of the rosary will begin at 6:30 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Frances Catholic Church in Otisville, Michigan, with visitation prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A luncheon will follow the mass to celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in honor of Annie’s generous spirit.
