Bernice Schiefer

Millington- Bernice Schiefer, age 93, our loving, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at her home.

Bernice was born in Frankenmuth, MI on April 24, 1929, to the late Richard and Irene (Bierlein) Knoll. She was married to the love of her life Harvey Schiefer. Together they had four children. Bernice was a devoted mother, and she had many hobbies, those included cooking, playing the piano, canning, and sewing. Her special angel food cake and noodles will be missed tremendously. She was a long-time member at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington, MI where she served on the altar guild and helped clean the church. Most importantly Bernice loved to take care of her home and be with her family. Bernice will be so dearly missed.

Bernice is forever loved by her children: Tom (Janice) Schiefer, Daryl (Linda) Schiefer and JoAnn Schiefer; six grandchildren: Michael (Sarah) Schiefer, Matthew Schiefer, Ryan (Ashley) Schiefer, Neil Schiefer and girlfriend Lauren Snyder, Rachel (Dusty) Higgins, and Amy Schiefer; six great-grandchildren; one sister Loretta Weber. Brother-in-law Hildered Bernthal, and sister-in-law Eva Schiefer. As well as several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Welcoming Bernice home to Heaven are her husband Harvey, parents, and daughter Rhonda Schiefer.

Bernice’s family will welcome guests to Hanlin Funeral Home (4823 Main St. Millington, MI 48746) on Sunday, May 1, 2022, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. A funeral for Bernice will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church (4941 Center St. Millington, Mi) on Monday, May 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m.; additional visitation from 12-1 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make a memorial contribution in Bernice’s name can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
