David Harris

Mr. David H. Harris of Vassar, Michigan passed away early Friday morning November 11, 2022, at the age of 78.

David was born in Flint Michigan on January 20, 1944, and was the son of the late Albert and Helen (Kowalski) Harris. On June 6, 1964, David married Miss Nancy Klein, and together they have celebrated 58 years of marriage. David retired from Buick City Motor Division of General Motors where he worked 35 years as a Quality Engineer. He loved his time hunting and fishing. David was an avid fisherman for walleye and bass. When he was younger, he loved playing baseball and was an accomplished ball player. He loved a good game of euchre, bowling and camping at Long Lake in Alpena, MI.  But most of all he loved spending time with family and friends and cuddling with his pet Marley Jo.

David leaves his wife Nancy, and his three children; Anna (Tonnya) Harris, Stephen (John) Castelli, and Mike (Mary) Harris, four grandchildren; Gage, Paige, Isaac and Amy; two great grandchildren Justice & Jade and  his beloved pet Marley Jo Bob; David also leaves his siblings; Alberta (Fred) Hess, Albert (Betty) Harris, Delbert (Pam) Harris, Rosetta (Jim) Harris, and Sharon (Ed) Case, and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Besides his parents, David is preceded in death by granddaughter Leighahna, and three brothers: Ronald, Frank and Don Harris.

The Harris family will receive friends on Tuesday Nov. 15, 2022, beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI [4823 Main St.] and from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning prior to the funeral. Funeral services for David will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday Nov. 16, 2022with the burial to follow at the East Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Saginaw MI.
