Frederick (Fred) Kennedy

Mr. Frederick Michael (Fred) Kennedy of Millington, MI passed away Thursday morning August 5, 2021, at the age of 80.

Fred was born December 19, 1940, in Dunklin, Missouri and was the son of the late Frank and Deloris (Rickwald) Kennedy. Fred graduated from Millington High School, and after high school he served our country in the United State Marine Corp.  Fred retired from Buick Motor Division of General Motors after 27 years of employment. Fred was a past member of the Millington Lions Club and was also a charter member. He loved football any given Friday night during the season he was at the North end of the field rooting on the Millington Cardinals. He was also an avid U of M football fan again on weekends during the season watching the Michigan Wolverines.

Fred leaves his wife Ruth, and his family. He leaves his 8 children; Michael, Michele, Eric, Matthew, Wesley, Patrick, Kelley, and Bruce, several grandchildren, great- grandchildren, his two sisters; Fran and Joyce. Also Fred leaves several nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends. Besides his parents, Fred is preceded in death by a son Frank.

The family will receive friends for a time of sharing and remembrance on Wednesday August 11, 2021, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington. The Kennedy family has honored Fred’s request and cremation has taken place with a private urn burial later. Memorial gifts of remembrance can be directed to the Millington Lions Club, or the Millington Foot ball program.
