Obituary

MILLINGTON – Joshua L. Burns, Sr. our hardworking, humorous, adventurous, and caring dad, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on June 4, 2022.

Josh was born on November 16, 1982, to Ron and Kim (Herrick) Burns in Flint, MI. He was a graduate of Millington High School Class with the Class of ’01. Josh was passionate about working on his family farm, Burns Poultry Farm. He had many hobbies, but some of those included: fishing, camping, kayaking, riding his side-by-side, and of course keeping a perfectly trimmed lawn. Most of all, Josh loved to be around his family and making everyone laugh. He will be missed dearly by so many.

Those left to cherish his memory are six children: Joshua Jr., Blake, Cheyenne, Brianna, Jessie, and Trevor; parents, Ron and Kim Burns; three brothers: Gus (Kassie) Burns, Nathan (Lynnzee) Burns, and Zack (Rachel) Burns; nieces and nephews: Cameron, Kaylee, Zoey, Aden, Emma, Brielle, with another niece or nephew soon to be here; as well as many extended family and friends; and dogs, Sully and Tucker.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents; and cousin, Samuel Simon.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Hanlin Funeral Home (4823 Main St. Millington, MI 48746). Funeral services for Josh will follow on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church (4941 Center St. Millington, MI 48746); additional visitation from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Pastor Timothy Martinal will preside. Afterwards, Josh will be laid to rest within Millington Township Cemetery.
