Kenneth "Ken" Heiser

MILLINGTON – Kenneth “Ken” Marvin Heiser, 50, our loving, sociable, intelligent, and determined husband, father, grandfather, son, uncle, and friend passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at the University of Michigan Medical Center – Ann Arbor, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Ken was born on Saturday, April 10, 1971 in Flint, MI to parents Kenneth Paul and Margaret (nee Christiansen) Heiser. He was raised alongside his sister, Ronnie, in Fostoria and graduated from Mayville High School (Class of 1989). Afterwards, Ken graduated with his bachelor’s degree from U of M – Flint. While on a rafting trip, he met the love of his life, Krista Sherman. They were united in marriage on Saturday, October 15, 1994 at the Millington United Methodist Church. Together they shared 26 years of marriage, their two sons, and countless memories.

He continued his career with U of M – Flint as associate director of information technology, a position he held for over 20 years. His involvement included coordinating the scholarship golf outing for U of M – Flint and assisting with the Millington High School football team. Ken had many passions in life, notably he enjoyed fishing, hunting, travel, and camping. Ken’s favorite camping spot was at River Ridge in Breckenridge, MI. Further, he had the innate ability to make friends wherever he went. Above all, Ken was a loyal and deeply devoted family man.

Ken is forever loved by his wife, Krista; sons, Gage (Hallie Maurer) Heiser and K.C. (Allie Claveau) Heiser; grandson, Riley; parents, Kenneth and Margaret; sister, Ronnie (Troy) Oliver; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Ken’s life will be held at the Millington Alumni Field, Millington High School (8780 Dean Drive, Millington, MI 48746) on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.  Visiting will begin at 10:00 a.m. and last until the time of celebration.

Those wishing to make Gifts of Remembrance in Ken’s name are asked to consider Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PANCAN).
