Millington – Rex Yost, 86, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, May 28th, 2022, at his home.
Rex was born on January 28th, 1936, in Hale, MI, to the late David and the late Helen (McCoy) Yost. He married the love of his life Evelyn Hoard and they celebrated 53 years together.
Rex honorably served in the Army from 1953-1957. Afterwards he began working as the east coast director for Polly Perry. He then continued his career as a supervisor with AC Delphi, a position he retired from. Rex found joy in watching and feeding his birds. Above all, Rex loved and was devoted to his family.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Yost; daughter, Adorna (Joe, Sr.) Mallard; grandchildren: Jilee (Zach) Leonard, Joe Jr. (Shelly) Mallard, Lindsay Mallard, John (Kim) Mallard; seven great-grandchildren; special niece, Penny Stafford; special nephews, David Stafford and Russ Hoard and his extended family.
Rex was preceded in death by his son David F. Yost; grandson Jacob D. Yost; Brothers Max and Gary Yost; Sisters Dorothy Stafford and Juanita Yost.
The family will welcome guests to Hanlin Funeral Home from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 2nd, 2022. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 3rd, 2022; additional visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Immediately following, Rex will receive military honors and be laid to rest in Pinegrove Cemetery, Arbela Township, followed by a luncheon.
