Ronald Mercer

VASSAR - Mr. Ronald R. Mercer of Vassar, MI, passed away Thursday, January 14th, 2021 at the age of 69. Ron was born in Flint, MI, on September 26th, 1951, the son of Kenneth and Beverly (Blake) Mercer.  After high school, Ron served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was very proud of his military service.  Upon his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he settled in Texas and was employed as a welder for the Stitt Spark Plug Company. When Ron retired, he returned to Vassar.

Those left to carry on Ron's legacy include his two children: son, Jayson and daughter, Heather. He also leaves several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, siblings, other extended family, and friends. Ron is preceded in death by his wife Jamie (d. 2015) and his parents, Kenneth and Beverly.

In keeping with Ron’s wishes, graveside services and military honors will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, January 21st, 2021 at the Tuscola Township Cemetery in Tuscola, MI. Friends are welcome to attend.
