Sharon Sutherland

Sharon Kay (Bunker) Sutherland died peacefully surrounded by her family on July 21, 2019.

Sharon was born November 22, 1938 to Howard and Lorraine (Richards) Bunker. She married the love of her life Kenneth (Bob) Sutherland on February 27, 1960. They were blessed with 4 children, Julie (Don) Bender, Jennifer (Adam) Miller, Brian (Wendy) Sutherland, and Bridget (Greg) Hildner. One of Sharon’s many passions was her in home daycare where she cared for many children whom she loved like her own.

Besides her husband and children Sharon leaves to cherish her memory; 11 grandchildren: Joshua Miller, Allison Bender, Molly Villarreal, Kirstin Stoeckle, Andrew Hildner, Maxwell Bender, Alexander Hildner, Adam Hildner, Morgan Miller, Ian Sutherland, and Kennedy Sutherland. She was also blessed with 3 great grandchildren; Victor Miller, Reagan Garvin, and Aria Ross. She also leaves a special goddaughter; Heather Boyer. She leaves one brother; Michael (Kristine) Bunker, brother and sister-in-laws Mark and Linda Sutherland and JoAnn Wood. Sharon in preceded in death by her parents, mother and father-in-law; Clarence and Hazel Sutherland, siblings Ron, Marilyn, Carol and Terry.

The Sutherland family invites friends and family on Thursday July 25, 2019 at the Hanlin Funeral Home from 3:00 to 8:00pm with a rosary prayer service starting at 7:00pm. The Funeral Mass will take place on Friday July 26, 2019 at St. Frances Catholic Church in Vassar, MI at 10:00am.The family has asked that any memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Heartland Hospice. The family would also like to extend a very special thank you to all the nurses and other staff at Heartland Hospice for the great care they gave Sharon.
